Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Jakarta

Situation:

The expanded Terminal 3 at Jakarta International Airport in Indonesia began operations in 2017, featuring 17 new Multiple Apron Ramp System (MARS) gates.

Each parking position is equipped with service pits for power, pre-conditioned air, potable water, blue water, and sewage.

Roediger supplied the central wet services plant, which is connected to more than 80 service pits across the apron area to provide potable and blue water and to remove sewage from the aircraft.

Solution:

  • Potable water is continuously disinfected using UV and chlorine, then circulated to meet airline hygiene standards and distributed to apron pits via a pressure boosting station.
  • Blue water is automatically mixed in two batch-operated tanks and supplied to the pits through a pressure boosting station.
  • Sewage is extracted from aircraft waste tanks via a central vacuum station connected to service pits, then pumped to the treatment plant. Exhaust air is treated using a biofilter system.
  • Wet services are supplied and extracted via underground pits, eliminating service vehicles. Hinged pits are easy to operate and rated for aircraft loads.
