Baltic Sea Resort Olpenitz, Germany

Situation:

The development of the former German Marine Base includes new construction that stretches out approximately 1 km / 0.6 mi into the sea. The investor constructed residential and marine leisure facilities with approximately 7,000 beds and 2,000 berths, built in stages. With the residential and leisure facility nearly completely surrounded with waters of the Baltic Sea, its unusual ground conditions (reclamation of land and new construction) as well as a very high ground water table, sandy soil and stage development had to be considered for the infrastructural construction. The accomplishment of the entire facility under these outstanding conditions requires special solutions.

Solution:

  • A Roevac® Vacuum Sewer System for this project is ideal as it provides many benefits. Shorter construction time, necessary flexibility, operational reliability and ecological sustainability are just a few of the advantages.
  • Optimum functioning of the vacuum sewerage system is utilised in all construction stages due to the expandable vacuum station. The vacuum station is placed at the central access to the island world, but outside of the housing area.

Specifics

  • A huge number of houses have direct access to their own jetty. The connection of these jetties to the vacuum sewer system and the evacuation of waste water from the boats is another important value for the Marina at the Baltic See Resort Olpenitz.
  • ROEVAC® Collection Chambers type Z 75 3” as central units collect the waste water from several houses. All chambers are equipped with a cable connected chamber monitoring system.
